I guess it’s true what they say. The only thing that stays the same is change. Regattas are not what they used to be. Gone are they days of 20 boat rafts, tents filing the yacht club grounds and beer trucks lining the streets to serve hundreds of sailors.
The Snake Island Nanaimo Regatta kicks off each year with a social mixer at the end of their main dock. Part of the activities includes adult racing in Opti’s.
This year the Laser Canadian Masters’ Championships were held on Lake Wabamun and hosted by the Wabamun Sailing Club, about an hour’s drive west of Edmonton.
