Halifax Welcomes Tall Ships

The “Tall Ships” are back for this summer as part of a transatlantic race covering 7,000 nautical miles and visiting six countries over five months. From July 29 to August 1, 2017, Halifax will welcome the international Tall Ships fleet for the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta.

Nova Scotia’s sailing ambassador Bluenose II will be front and centre during the event, showcasing our seafaring history and sail training passion.

As the start line for the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta, we are excited to welcome the world to Halifax and Nova Scotia in 2017.

The Barrie Yacht Club (on Lake Simcoe's Kempenfelt Bay) recently hosted the 2011 Olson 25 Canadian National Championship Regatta on September 10/11, 2011.

The 2011 event featured a very competitive seven-boat fleet that sailed six races in total over two days. Starting early on Saturday morning and running through until Sunday evening, Olson 25 skippers and crew enjoyed a full slate of racing and conditions that resulted in very close competition in challenging and sometimes shifty conditions.
