Mount Gay, the world’s oldest running rum distillery, will be back once again to provide sailors at the BVI Spring Regatta with their much-loved post-race tipple after a great day out on the water.

As long-standing supporters of the event, Mount Gay’s 300+ year heritage dates back to 1703 and is deeply connected to the ocean and sailing. The renowned Mount Gay Rum Red Cap has become much-coveted and much-collected memorabilia by all those who race.

Mount Gay have decided that it would be a sustainable move to use the famous Red Cap 2020 to celebrate the return of the 49th BVI Spring Regatta. This will be the famous Mount Gay Rum Red Cap of the BVI Spring Regatta that did not happen because of the worldwide pandemic – a collector’s item for sure!” says Regatta Director, Judy Petz.

Thursday March 31st – A Race to Foxy’s provides a chance to explore more of the islands, work on the boat practice and then enjoy all the fun and festivities the renowned Foxy’s Bar has to offer. Registration starts at noon for those entering the BVI Spring Regatta.

Friday April 1 – Sunday April 3 is three days of top racing round rocks, islands with 18 classes, there’s a boat and a course for everyone.

White sail chartering is a great way to participate in this iconic event, but there had been some concerns about the fleet. Happily, at deadline, the regatta organizers had confirmed that both The Moorings and Sunsail are working to comply with the safety regulations.
