This means WAR – Bringing back the Women’s Regatta at RHYC
The idea was born over beers and a bonfire, as all great ideas are. After two years of meeting in the off seasons, the idea of bringing back the Women’s Annual Regatta (WAR) is coming to fruition in July 2019.

LYRA Race Week 2019: July 28 – Aug 4
The first LYRA race week was formed in 1884 at the Queens Hotel in Toronto. It is believed that LYRA is the oldest association of yacht clubs on the continent; no other similar body is known to exist in North America in 1884.

Shellbacks Report and Programming
The Shellbacks Club of Toronto started their Christmas season with their annual Moosemilk luncheon. Gathering at Mimico Cruising Club, the Shellbacks had a delicious meal complemented by moose milk (egg nog and rum) and other Christmas delicacies. The buffet and dessert table that Mimico put out was spectacular.

BVI and Moorings full tilt for back-to-normal Spring Regatta
After last year’s large-scale efforts to stage the 2018 BVI Spring Regatta in the wake of Hurricane Irma, organizers and participants are looking forward to a more “normal” event this year. The stage is set for the 48thedition to begin on March 25-31, 2019.

Youth Championships announced for CORK 2019
On November 28, Sail Canada announced that the 2019 Sail Canada Youth Championships will take place at CORK International at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour (POH) in Kingston, Ontario.

EYC Holds Successful NextGen Regatta

It’s Official: Marblehead!
The 38th Biennial Classic, hosted by the Boston Yacht Club and the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron will begin in Marblehead Harbor on Sunday, July 7, 2019 and follow a 363 nautical mile course to Halifax Nova Scotia. Awards will be made in Halifax on July 11.

Racing: Canadians win Oakcliff Pumpkin Regatta
Oakcliff Sailing is located in Oyster Bay, NY, and led by Dawn Riley who has done four America’s Cup campaigns. It is an unparalleled training facility for sailors and the marine industry including fleet, match and offshore racing.
