SinC Race to Kingston Update

July 19, 2023

Will French will be racing Entourage in R2K and also sponsoring via Jeffery Group Real Estate Services

Don’t miss out on the Race Social Event of the year! What to expect!

We are less than a few weeks out from the start of the 2023 Race to Kingston Event, August 11th thru 14th. All race registration details can be found at Yachtscoring.com, Race to Kingston. There has been a recent NOR amendment increasing the PHRF eligibility for the race to 180 or less from the previous 160 or less to facilitate a broader fleet representation especially for those preferring white sails only.

Additionally, the race registration entry deadline has been extended to Friday July 28th.

This year’s edition of the race, being its second year running, will be the largest racer’s social event of its kind on Lake Ontario with new sponsors, notably Goslings of Bermuda – the originators of the Dark N Stormy. Emily Gosling will be on site at MCC for the kickoff event Friday. In addition, local craft brewer Stonehooker Brewing Co. will sample their craft beer with their unique nautical branding.

Things get underway on Friday August 11th with Check In/Reception/Dinner at Mimico Cruising Club, where participants will receive their Skipper’s bags at check-in.

SinC Race to Kingston Update 2 400The MCC Racer’s Social reception begins at 1700, followed by dinner, weather briefing by Ron Bianchi and live entertainment provided by Tony Paglia and the Nomads. This will set the stage for the on-water starts for the 2023 Race to Kingston Saturday, August 12th.

NEW for 2023, when you arrive in Kingston you will be greeted by KYC representatives with a bag of items, most importantly Spearhead beer. KYC welcomes all racers upon finishing for food and beverage services at their club house. Sunday coffee and pastries will be available early morning followed by restaurant and bar service. KYC is a club with a deep nautical history you will want to experience, in addition to socializing with your fellow racers upon your arrival.

KYC will be a central hub and meet up place for race participants to enjoy and socialize over the two-day period, a short walk from Confederation Basin.

A Racers WELCOME reception and Award celebration at KYC will be an event you will not want to miss, followed by RACE RESULTS and Awards.
