The Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club in agreement with Mill Bay Marine Group hosted the “CRASH Regatta”
at the Port Sidney Marina September 17 and 18th.
Good winds and a great location produced some fantastic sailing.

The Canadian Yachting Association is pleased to announce the following Olympic and Paralympic sailors who will be nominated to the Canadian Olympic Committee and Canadian Paralympic Committee for inclusion on the 2012 Canadian Olympic and Paralympic team. The formal announcement took place at the Weymouth & Portland International Sailing Academy, home of the 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Sailing venue.
The summer regatta schedule for the coveted (if homemade) Laser Cup is Royal Hamilton Open July 1, NOLSC’s Niagara cup July 15 and then Cornucopia at DYC Sept 2. We will race to class rules, and we will likely have our own starts!
The “Tall Ships” are back for this summer as part of a transatlantic race covering 7,000 nautical miles and visiting six countries over five months.
Today, Organizers of the TELUS Van Isle 360 Yacht Race announced that they will provide a $25,000 donation for the Queen Alexandra Foundation in support of Jeneece Place, a home away from home for children requiring medical treatment and their families.
Jeneece Place is the dream of 17 year old Jeneece Edroff, known to many as the Vancouver Island Penny Girl, who, with help from TELUS, raised more than $1.5 million to help children with special needs.
On September 27-29th, the Royal Canadian Yacht Club hosted Canada’s J105 Championship Regatta on Lake Ontario in Toronto with sixteen determined competitors.
