The Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club in agreement with Mill Bay Marine Group hosted the “CRASH Regatta”
at the Port Sidney Marina September 17 and 18th.
Good winds and a great location produced some fantastic sailing.

The Vancouver-based president of the Farr 30 World Council is looking to Chester Race Week 2018 next month to entice Farr 30 owners from Ontario, Quebec, Atlantic Canada and New England to gather in Chester for the Farr 30 North American Championships.
Boating for the Cure is a daylong family style poker run around the Muskoka Lakes raising funds
equally for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and Prostate Cancer Canada.
In November of 2010 we set a goal of raising $100 000 in the 2011 event. With a lot of hard work from
many sponsors, participants and donors we were able to reach our goal and raise just over $102 000.
We started the fundraising off with a boat auction in January raising over $38 000 and kept the ball
rolling with help from our sponsors.
Through on air advertisements, an auction and PSAs the Evanov Radio Group raised over $21 000.
The IFDS Worlds in Port Charlotte are now in the history books and the competitors are transferring their equipment to Miami for OCR. The Canadian Sailing team sailors fared very well for this event, some were here for trials and some for more international experience. Paul Tingley from RNSYS was on the podium with a third place overall for the event! Today he ended up seventh but at times during the race he had enough separation to get second place. With the 2.4 course location close to shore, the shifts were very unpredictable the results for many of the top competitors were all over the map.
For the first time since its creation in 2000, ROUTE Halifax Saint-Pierre has joined the magnificent setting on the Waterfront in the historic centre of Halifax for an amazing race start.
Rolex International Women's Keelboat Championship (RIWKC) – Corey Sertl, from Rochester, NY moved ahead of both Anna Tunnicliffe and Sally Barkow to win. Corey's daughter Katja Sertl, in her second ever RIWKC, placed eighth and another local sailor, Kiki Werner was fifth. Top international boat went to the Dutch team, skippered by Marieke Poulie in 10th place, and top Canadian team was Sharon Ferris.
