One of the greatest sea adventures of our time is about to begin, the 3rd annual Race to Alaska. Stage 1 is the shakedown sprint from Port Townsend, Washington to Victoria, British Columbia that starts today, June 8^th. Stage 2, begins on June 11^th^.

Team Ain’t Brain Surgery

The 750 mile trek takes competitors up the inside passage through some of the most beautiful and stunning terrain in the world from Victoria BC to Ketchikan Alaska. Along the way they will face ragging currents through narrow channels, rain, fog, high winds, no winds and the open Pacific Ocean before reaching Ketchikan.

2011 J/105 Canadian Championship wrap-up

The 2011 J/105 Canadian Championship, the premier racing event of the J/105 Fleet 4 season was awarded to Dave Shaver's Retern, also winner of the 2007 edition. This year's Championship war flag was well earned in one of the closest events for the season. Second place went to Jamaica Me Crazy, last year's winner whilst third place went to Hey Jude.

The three day event was the perfect test for J/105 sailing out of Toronto, with variable wind conditions from moderate (Friday and Sunday) to high waves Saturday, current and oscillating wind directions, testing sailing and strategy of all the top crews.

Zach Carver and his team of filmmakers have put together a documentary, immersing viewers in the annual engineless up the rugged British Columbia coastline starting from Port Townsend Washington State with a stopover in Victoria BC and then finishing in Ketchikan Alaska.

It has been several years since the harbour has seen a fleet of schooners in Shelburne. Excitement is building with anticipation of an outstanding week of sailing.
