O Canada is back in the game just a few weeks after being forced to retire from the Transat Jacques Vabre Race.  The decision to retire from the TJV was based on the team’s longterm goal of competing in the Vendee Globe, for which the Transat St Barths will take us one step closer.

“We have now spent the last month repairing and prepping; our TJV issues will no longer be a problem. The Transatlantic was used as a solo training delivery, giving Eric and myself valuable solo time with O Canada. The TJV was not a failure, it was a valuable learning experience that the team was able to recover and move on, now stronger and more equipped for our Vendee Globe future,” said Morgen Watson, co-skipper of O Canada.

The Transat Saint Barths Race starts this Sunday, December 6 and it is Skipper Eric Holden’s first solo IMOCA-class race. Read the full story and reflections from our skipper here.
