AB Open Kicks Off LORC Schedule

May 15, 2024

The Lake Ontario Racing Circuit will be kicking off the 2024 season at Ashbridge’s Bay Yacht Club Open Regatta at the east end of the city of Toronto the weekend of May 24th. The weather forecast looks spectacular with sunny skies and warm temperatures and perfect wind conditions… or at least we are hoping with fingers crossed.

For those new to racing or those who want to try racing with a little less congestion and stress on the racecourse there will be a long-distance race on the Sunday on the FUN course.

Once again ABYC has an array of sponsors to ensure a fabulous post-race party. This year the party will be featuring complimentary servings of various adult cocktails including, Crystal Head, whiskey by Signal Hill and beer from the C’est What Durham Brewery. There are also rumours of mystery cocktails and various appetizers being served up…The post-race party will have a BBQ dinner available with all of the fix’ns for only $15. Participants are encouraged to book meals early to ensure no crew members miss out on our new caterers’ creations. Once again, the “Bottoms Up” band will again be entertaining the dancers for the better part of the evening.

Competitors are invited to come to the club Friday night for dinner and a sundowner. Club members have volunteered to help with docking, and dock locations will be prearranged for competitors.
