Cedric (Ced) Gyles passed at his home in The Blue Mountains, Ontario, on Sunday September 24, 2023, at the age of 96. Best known most recently to the sailing community aboard his 8-Metre Norseman, he entered the class back in 1953 with the Fife 8-Metre Concerto.
On August 5, 35 boats entered the 2023 Trans-Superior Race. In July, nearly 200 boats raced in the 2023 Bayview Mackinac race on July 15th then week later, more than 230 boats sailed in the 2023 Chicago to Mackinac race.
