September 20, 2023

Orbit Winches combine fresh design thinking and proven manufacturing expertise in a performance-oriented range of lightweight aluminum winches. The new winches incorporate some of the best features of Andersen Stainless Steel Winches®, including highly efficient gearing configurations and the instantly recognizable Power Ribs™. Together, the smooth drum surface and evenly spaced Power Ribs provide impressive line grip and control with minimal rope wear.

With these proven attributes further supported by innovation, and modern manufacturing processes, Orbit Winches offer lower line entry heights and weigh significantly less than any other winch in their class. Remarkably easy to service, they require no tools for disassembly and maintenance.

QuickTrim

Enter QuickTrim™ – a unique, patented feature available on all Orbit Winches, sizes 30QT and larger. QuickTrim allows sailors to easily and safely ease line tension to make minor sail trim adjustments without removing the winch handle or taking the line out of the self-tailer. A small anti-clockwise rotation of the self-tailing cover allows the self-tailer to turn beneath it like a sheave as the rope is eased, with confident grip and control assured by the drum’s smooth surface and Power Ribs™.

Letting the top cover spring back into place locks the self-tailer again to resume normal use. Racing sailors can react and respond instantly to minor course corrections or changes in wind pressure and direction, providing a unique advantage when frequent sail trim adjustments are required. Cruising sailors will also appreciate the simple convenience when adjusting sail trim.

QuickTrim is an optional feature that is enabled by removing a single screw located within the self-tailer. Give it a try, and we’re confident you will enjoy the intuitive functionality and practical advantages QuickTrim™ provides. Explore the range now.
