LYRA has a long tradition of bringing Canadian and US sailors together for top level competition and camaraderie. As you know, that was not possible in 2020 so a program of events on separate sides of the border was assembled.
On Saturday Nov 14, LYRA held a virtual AGM hosted by NYC in Toronto to report and look ahead. Competitors and others will find it extremely interesting.

Last night, April 7, Rob Mazza presented the remarkable history of the legendary Red Jacket, a Canadian Sailing Icon. Naturally, this was a virtual event with an admission of $5 benefitting the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes at Kingston.
Sailing has been a Jeux Canada Games sport since 1967. The name recognizes our 2 official languages French and English. Jeux Canada Games is a multi-sport festival mimicking the Olympic games featuring opening and closing ceremonies, provincial team uniforms and sail identifiers.
NEWPORT, R.I. – Sail long enough and you’re sure to have a leg where all factors conspire against you: the wind, the tide, the competition, passing motor boats, everything. That’s what this year is like for regatta organizers.
Clubs, schools and other organizations involved in sailing across Canada will again be invited to take part in the 2022 #GoSailing Week, which will be held June 20-26. Led by Sail Canada, this initiative, which will be held for the second time, will aim to introduce more Canadians, especially new families, to the sport of sailing.

Gulf Yachting Association (GYA) race organizers will utilize ratings built on Offshore Racing Association (ORA) velocity prediction programming.
