WTF Races in Hubbards

WTF Races

July 11, 2016

It’s not really “yachting” but in Hubbards Cove I spied this colourful quartet of St. Margarets Bay Tuna Flats. These boats were originally used to work the tuna traps out in the bay and I think some still are. The surviving boats are now raced in the grandly named “World Tuna Flat Races”. Did I mention they are unique to south-east corner of St. Margarets Bay? The “thirty-foarth” event will be held in Hubbards Cove on July 23rd. Looks like fun. WTF indeed.
