LOOR 300 2016 is Fast Approaching

Originally started in 1907 as a test of sailing and navigational skills, the Mills Cup Race has evolved into a premier sailing race event on Lake Erie. This annual race in the west-end of Lake Erie, is unique in that the race is held at night.

Less than half a dozen hours before racing was scheduled to start, most of the forecast models were showing conditions that would be adequate for competing, with a southwest breeze around seven or eight knots.
Congratulations to Connor MacKenzie, Sam Thompson, Jack Porter and Erin Sauder from the Oakville Yacht Squadron who won the 2022 Etchells North American Corinthian Championships held at the Shelter Island Yacht Club, June 21-26 in New York, USA.
This year the Laser Canadian Masters’ Championships were held on Lake Wabamun and hosted by the Wabamun Sailing Club, about an hour’s drive west of Edmonton.
