2019 CanAm now two days

Youngstown’s CanAm Regatta for 2019 will be a two day regatta this year, easier on the crew and family schedules! All the same great racing with top knotch RC work and fun ashore!  It’s a cordial international competition between two country’s minutes across the Niagara River from each other.

Canam Winners 2018New boats to the fleet include a J/99, Melges IC 37, Melges 32, to go with the J/88’s, J/111, etc.  The PHRF fleet will have some quick boats in it. There’s even a Farr 40 registered already.

The organizers emphasize that the CanAm open to ALL boats, not just one design.  We will have fleets for PHRF and IRC, multi-hull, and one design.  If you come, we will have racing for you!  We are hoping that boats from Buffalo, Toronto, Rochester, etc will make the trip and then race LYRA the week after.

Barbados is the official title sponsor of the 2011 Beneteau First 36.7 North American Championship in Toronto, Ontario. This year’s race, from September 8 to 11, marks the 10th anniversary of this North American Class Regatta event and is the first time it will be held in Canadian waters. Rolex International Women’s Keelboat Championship – Tied at the top

Rolex International Women’s Keelboat Championships – Anna Tunnicliffe moved into first to tie up the lead with Sally Barkow. Corey Sertl remained in second and Carol Cronin moved into fourth.

Racing on Lake Ontario didn't start until after noon, when the wind came in and settled. After that the race committee pulled off three good races. The conditions ranged from light and variable to wavy with good breeze.
