SinC SailGP RCYC Talk 400Everyone interested is invited to hear about SailGP Season 3 from Sir Russell Coutts, CEO, SailGP; Canada SailGP Team CEO, Jean-Sébastien Chénier Proteau; and Tyler Bjorn, Head of Development & Purpose on Wednesday April 6, 1700 – 2000 hrs.

The program will include an introduction to SailGP by Sir Russell Coutts - aim of the league, athletes, boats, technology, teams, purpose + impact followed by an intro to Canada SailGP Team by Jean-Sebastien Proteau, the team’s CEO, including the aim of the team, ownership, athletes, purpose, boat update and a Canada event update.

Following the presentations there will be an opportunity for Q+A.

The European portion of SailGP Season 4 got underway this weekend in Saint-Tropez, France. Having hit record breaking speeds last year on the Côte d’Azur, Phil Robertson and the Canadians were looking forward to this weekend of racing, but things did not turn out as hoped. A penalty in the pre-start of race one was a precursor of what was to come, and it proved difficult for the team to recover.

A collision with Spain early on in race one set the team back and translated into eight penalty points for the event and an additional four penalty points for the season.
