Sail Canada has announced the list of sailors who will be part of the 2022-2023 Canadian Sailing Team and Canadian Sailing Development Squad.

The 29 squad members were selected based on the Canadian Sailing Team Sport Canada Carding Criteria as well as on their overall performance during the 2021-2022 season.

Carded sailors from both the Canadian Sailing Team and the Canadian Sailing Development Squad receive financial support through the Sport Canada Athlete Assistance Program to help offset the costs related to their sport. Team members also receive tuition support for post-secondary education during their high-performance career or when they retire.

This year’s Canadian Sailing Team and Development Squad are comprised of several new members, including Arie Moffat from Kingston, ON (KYC) in 49er, James Juhasz from Oakville, ON (BHYC) and Forrest Wachholz from Innisfil, ON (Barrie YC) in ILCA 7, as well as Michael Brodeur from Montréal, QC (BYC) and Mac Morrin from Kingston, ON (KYC), in Formula Kite. The latter event will be part of the Olympic program for the first time at the 2024 Games in Paris.
