News from LOOR: LO300 Capped at 90
Mar 16, 2022
All Racer Event: Sunday, March 20th 14:00-16:00
Our flag distribution and ‘post race chili’ event in December was so popular we decided to do it again. All are welcome to join us whether you are a seasoned LOOR racer or hope to join us for the first time. Dress warmly as we are planning (in case you were missing the LO300 post race meal) to serve chili and beer at PCYC’s fire pit. Please come and meet your LOOR Organising Committee and your fellow racers and find out what is happening in the upcoming season! In case you didn’t get a chance to come out for the previous event, flags and keeper plaques will be there for you to pick up.
This is a drop in event, but we would like to get an idea of how many people will be coming so we don’t run out of, um, Chili. Please RSVP to info@loor.ca
NEW THIS YEAR – LO300 entries capped at 90
This year we are celebrating the 32nd LO300 Challenge. To ensure that YB Trackers are available for every participant, entries are capped at 90 paid entries. The precedence of an entry will be based on the date and time of the payment in full of the total applicable fee.
The first race of the season is the 75 NM Susan Hood Trophy Race, scheduled for Friday, June 3rd, 2022. Running annually since 1955 on the first weekend of June and affectionately referred to as “the coolest race on the lake”, First Warning is 19:45PM on the Friday evening, making it an overnight experience on often very cold water with racers typically back at PCYC during the afternoon of the following day.
The Lake Ontario Short Handed Racing Series (LOSHRS) also begins that weekend, with the 16 NM Course Race scheduled for Sunday, June 5th.
