Helly Hansen Chester Race Week 2023 is now opening registration for the August 16-19, 2023 Regatta. Organizers expect that the event will be bigger, better with even more competitive and FUN racing for competitors of all levels.

Last year’s event saw an incredible fleet of 32 Bluenose class sloops rounding out the complete competitor fleet of 117 boats. More Bluenoses are expected this year along with a visit from Nova Scotia’s beautiful Bluenose ll ambassador.

The Distance course is planning for more over 40’ big boats in Distance 1 and the One Design fleets are sure to include competitive J105’s, International One Designs, Sonars, Farr 30s and other fleets that may develop. PHRF is alive and well on the Distance and Inshore classes and the Classics will sail a series of Pursuit races.

Introduced last year the prize winner gets a complimentary entry to the following Chester Race Week!

Back for 2023 is PRO Daniel Conrod and Race Officers Peter Van Muyden, John Abel, Luke Porter, Pat Nelder and Trish Finlay, accompanied Chief Judge Katie Nicoll and by some excellent course people and some very dedicated volunteers. On shore activities are coordinated by the Chester Yacht Club and Kim Johnson and a multitude of wonderful volunteers.

The event is sailed out of the Village of Chester on beautiful Mahone Bay located approximately one hour’s drive southeast of Halifax NS. Billed as the largest fixed keel regatta in Eastern Canada, Chester Race Week offers an unsurpassed racing venue.
