Cancellation of 2020 Route Halifax Saint-Pierre and Route Saint-Pierre Quebec

May 28, 2020

In view of the international health situation, we regret to cancel the 2020 edition of ROUTE Halifax Saint-Pierre and ROUTE Saint-Pierre Quebec.

Our archipelago has so far been preserved from the pandemic by respecting all of the essential health rules. We have studied with our partners multiple possibilities to partly maintain our ocean race but for the security of our populations and all sailors, we have decided to postpone the ROUTE to 2021 at a date that will be precised at a later stage..
We would like to thank all of our partners, the French Government, the Territorial Collectivity of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, the City of Saint-Pierre, Develop Nova-Scotia and the companies of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon for their support and comprehension in this unprecedented crisis.

We would also like to thank the community of ROUTE sailors, the Class40 association, the Multi50 class, PURE OCEAN Foundation and the many ocean racing organizers with whom we had long discussions during this period and who will remain partners with the ROUTE for many projects in the future.
