ILCA action at St Petersburg USA Midwinters East

Close to 40 young Canadian sailors were in action last weekend around the world in two competitions, the Mallorca Sailing Center Regatta 2022 in Mallorca, SPA, and the ILCA Midwinter’s East 2022 at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, U.S.A.

At the Mallorca Sailing Center Regatta 2022, three teams of our country were in action, including Canadian members of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Ali ten Hove and Mariah Millen in 49er FX, as well as William Jones and Evan DePaul in 49er. Arie Moffat and Sam Bonin were also in action in this class. 

 

 

SinC Midwinters Ten Hove Millen 400ten Hove and Millen in Mallorca

The team of ten Hove and Millen were the best Canadians with a 12th-place finish amongst the 37 teams registered in 49erFX. In the 49er class, Arie Moffat and Sam Bonin took the 17th spot and Jones and DePaul, the 27th position.

Silver medal for Carlos Charabati

At the ILCA Midwinter’s East 2022 held at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, U.S.A., 34 Canadian sailors were in action.

Congratulations to Carlos Charabati (Pointe-Claire Yacht Club), silver medalist in the ILCA 4, as well as to Nathan Latka (OST-ABYC), 4th in ILCA 6, and Daniel Connors (RNSYS), 10th in ILCA 7.
