Registration for Charlottetown Race Week: One Design Speed Week Opens

The Canadian National Etchells Championship runs in Charlottetown as part of Speed Week

Charlottetown Race Week: One Design Speed Week registration is now open for one design and PHRF class racing. After a landmark year in 2023 with over 250 sailors and 16 visiting crews the Charlottetown Race Week Planning committee expects an increase of over 15% and will have visiting crews representing Annapolis, MD; Nova Scotia; New Brunswick; Quebec; Ontario; and British Columbia. The eventwill be taking place Thursday, July 11th- Saturday July 13th, 2024.

Charlottetown Race Week has become the second largest regatta on the East Coast and has been growing with great enthusiasm due to its competitive class racing and exceptional access and beauty.

This year, the event will feature the Canadian National Etchells Championship and the the Farr 30 North East Open Championship, along with J/29 fleet, J/70 fleet, and PHRF Fleet.

What you need to know about Charlottetown Race Week: One Design Speed Week 2024:

  • The CRW organizing committee is proud to announce Andreas Josenhans will be returning as this year’s Race Officer. Josenhans was a member of the youngest of the Olympic sailing crews at the Montreal 1976 Olympics, with fellow sailors Glen Dexter and Sandy MacMillan. The team placed 8th. The team went on to become the World Class Soling Champions in 1977 and 1980. Andreas Josenhans was a crew member on America 3, winning the America’s Cup in 1992.
  • The event will feature after race shore games and live entertainment.
  • Early Bird registration ends on June 1st, 2024.
