Racing: LOOR Announces 2025 Race Dates

Lake Ontario Offshore Racing (LOOR) announces the official race dates for the 2025 season. Sailors, mark your calendars for an exciting lineup of offshore challenges, featuring the prestigious Lake Ontario 300 and 600 Challenge Races, the Susan Hood Trophy Race, and the popular Lake Ontario Shorthanded Race Series (LOSHRS)

DATES:

The LO300/LO600 and SHTR are open to compliant sailboats under the handicap/rating systems of GLMRA, ORC, or PHRF, whether singlehanded/solo, double handed or fully crewed. LOSHRS is open to compliant sailboats under the handicap/rating systems of GLMRA or PHRF racing as singlehanded/solo or double handed.

Race participants can look forward to the release of the Notices of Race, related documents, and registration information on our website, www.loor.ca, prior to the Toronto International Boat Show (TIBS), which runs from January 18-26, 2025.

LOOR Race Presentation Dates 2025

LO300 & Susan Hood Trophy Race (SHTR) Combined Flag Presentation: Saturday, July 19th at National Yacht Club (NYC),

LOOR (LO300, SHTR, and LOSHRS) Combined Trophy Awards Banquet: Friday, November 14th at Port Credit Yacht Club (PCYC).

About Lake Ontario Offshore Racing (LOOR) of the Port Credit Yacht Club (PCYC), is dedicated to bringing the offshore sailboat racing experience to Lake Ontario.

This is augmented by LOOR’s educational series throughout the Lake Ontario basin and promotion of other activities related to offshore racing. A key focus of LOOR is the safety of offshore racing.
