Kingston To Host Sail Canada’s Four Youth and Senior National Championships This Summer

Sail Canada’s four youth and senior National Championships will be hosted in Kingston, ON, by CORK/Sail Kingston this summer.

The first championships will feature Formula Kite, one of the two new classes at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games this summer. Sail Canada’s 2024 Senior Formula Kite Championships will be held July 4-7, during FOILKingston. This event will also include the iQFoil and WASZP classes. The Notice of Race for this event is now available and participants can now register through https://www.sailing.ca/sc_event/sail-canada-2024-senior-formula-kite-championships/ and www.cork.org.

Then, August 6-9, Kingston will host Sail Canada’s 2024 Youth Championships and its 2024 Senior ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 Championships. Last year event, held in Kingston, attracted close to 500 athletes who took part in these two events held simultaneously. This year, the competition will be held during CORK International and Olympic Classes Regatta, which will also showcase the 29er North American Championships.

Sail Canada Youth Championships are the pinnacle event of the season for Canadian youth sailors, with athletes travelling from across the country to compete in the 29er, Club 420, ILCA 4 and ILCA 6 classes.

Finally, Sail Canada’s 2024 49er and 49erFX Senior Championships will be the last national event of the season August 16-18. The 29er Canadian Championships, as well as multi-fleet one-design competitions will also happen at the same time, including in VXOne, Finn, Soling, Etchells and Viper640.

The notice of race and registration for the events to be held in August will be available in the coming weeks.

Sail Canada’s 2024 National Championships are part of a series of seven Sail Canada National and Regional Championships that will be held this summer. Sail Canada previously announced that Sail Central 2024 will be held at the Ashbridge’s Bay Yacht Club in Ontario, July 11-14, 2024, during the ABYC Seahorse Regatta, while Sail East will be held July 19-21 at the St. Margaret Sailing Club, Nova Scotia., during the Bay Wind Regatta.
