Race to Kingston is Back for ‘24!

Jan 17, 2024

Kingston arrival last year

With the holiday season behind us and the Toronto International Boat Show starting Friday, it’s time to plan our summer 2024 sailing season.

After an eventful Race to Kingston in 2023 – complete with two rounds of storms, a fresh wind to keep the boats moving and an early finish (some boats finished within 24 hours of their start); we are pleased to announce that this year’s R2K will take place on the weekend of August 16-19.

As has become tradition, the event will kick off with registration and party at Mimico Cruising Club on Friday, August 16. Racers will muster for 1000 on the Saturday for the start from the Mimico Club racing area and head down lake for the finish off the break wall at Kingston Yacht Club sometime between August 18 and 0900 on August 19. Awards and lunch will be held at KYC at 1100 on Monday.

Dark ‘n’ Stormies are back

This year, we are pleased to have Gosling’s Rum from Bermuda as our title sponsor. After a year of no wind and last year’s exciting wind, we are not going to predict anything about the weather, but we will promise a fun time and exciting racing!
