2023 Pan American Games Sailing Under Way

A total of 15 sailors are taking part in the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games in Algarrobo, Chile. Canadian athletes are aiming to qualify spots for the country for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, except in ILCA 6 as it’s already done, and in the Sunfish and Lightning classes which are not Olympic events.

As of our deadline, the racing is completed for initial races – notable: Sarah Douglas is sitting 2nd in ILCA6 after 5 races; Fillah Karim 8th  in ILCA7 after 5; Justin Barnes and Will Jones stand 3rd in 49er after 6; Alie Ten Hove and Mariah Millen are 3rd after6; and the Mixed Lightning trio of Rachel Green, Jessica Hirschbold, and Luke Ramsay rank 3rd after three races.
