NEW! LOOR Cruising Rally September 16th and 17th

SinC LOOR Cruising Rally

September 6, 2023

SinC LOOR Cruising Rally Poster

LOOR is very pleased to announce their first Cruising Rally to be held on the same dates as the very popular Short-Handed race to Dalhousie Yacht Club. For many years the LOOR has been looking for ways to encourage cruisers to transition to racing, and adding a Cruising Rally will hopefully be a great event and smooth the transition.

The Rally will leave PCYC right after the Short Handed racers are off on the morning of September 16th. Cruisers and racers should all arrive at Dalhousie Yacht Club for the Saturday night dinner and festivities. The next morning, once again after the racers are off, there is a return cruise back to PCYC. Rally participants have no limit on the number of crew and may also use their engines if so desired.

After crossing…

Saturday Night 1700

Racers and Cruisers will meet up south of the DYC clubhouse for a social event. The bar will be open and stories of the race and cruise will abound. We are asking all cruisers and racers to bring an appetizer to share. Two beer tickets will be given to each person as they arrive.

Dinner at DYC (all dinners are individually plated)

  • BBQ Grilled Chicken
  • 1/3 Rack BBQ Ribs
  • Corn on the Cob
  • Potato Salad
  • Vanilla caramel Swirl Cake

Cost: $40 (includes HST & Gratuity)

Participants must register for dinner by emailing: reservations@dalhousieyachtclub.com.

Sunday Morning 0730 Dockside

  • Balzac’s Coffee (ordered more this year)
  • Budapest Bakery Breakfast Chimney’s
  • 13th Street Winery Butter Tarts

The LOOR Cruising Rally is a Category 4 event so all yachts must meet these requirements.
