Eager started sailing when he was nine years old and racing about a year later in the International Shark 24 class. Between 1985 and 2003 he won the Shark Class World Championship four times. In 2010 he was completely paralyzed by Guillain Barre Syndrome which destroyed his peripheral nervous system and he has residual paralysis and loss of sensation in my hands and lower legs. Development Team members, Delani Hulme-Lawrence from St. Paul, AB, sailing out of Royal Vic finished 12th. At the Canada Summer Games in 2017, Delani suffered from equipment failure that put her out of medal contention; ending the regatta in 4th. Shortly after this event Delani applied for the C. Thomas Clagett Jr. Memorial Boat Grant Program in Newport, RI. She was awarded the 2017 boat grant and received a brand new 2.4mR, allowing her to continue her pursuit. That same year, Delani launched Life over Limb, 2.4mR Performance Sailing campaign. She attended her first Clagett Regatta/US Para Championship in 2018 and finished as the 1st female.
