Lakeshore Raft party brings back the regatta of old

The LSYC Raft Party Race is happening on June 29th, 2019! This will be the ultimate resurgence of partying and sailing in the Lake Ontario racing scene. Partnered with Parker Media Management, we wanted to get back to the roots of a great regatta; which emphasizes great racing, an awesome party and growing comradery. Our back to basics approach was inspired by the legendary Levels Regattas; which included tough competition, cheap drinks, rocking music and good times.

With the help of our amazing sponsors we have the opportunity to elevate our event without passing on the costs to our competitors. At only $75 Early Registration Participants will enjoy an afternoon of offshore racing followed by the Official Raft Party! Our Boss Supplements swag bag is packed with over $200 of freebies including a custom Raft Party Race Fast Mask UV Face Shield for the ENTIRE CREW! Sailors can register on YachtScoring – Not a Racer? No Problem! We have a Cruising Division geared up for those who just want to have some laid-back fun! One Design Fleets are welcome as well – reach out if you want to make the party of the season. All classes with 5+ boats will be scored One Design!

Come back and raft up for the evening at LSYC and take advantage of our Canada Day Long Weekend Party on Saturday night! Beaches Beer, Viritus Vodka and our favorite rum will keep us refreshed all night long while busting a move to FiddleStix and DJ On Top from Sound Collective!

Hungry? No problem! We’ve got Chrome on the Range Food truck there all night to keep you fueled, along with our FREE late-night pizza! At the end of the day we just want to keep the party going for racers of all ages, while making sure the younger crowd is represented. 300 Sailors Attend US Sailing Safety At Sea Seminar

More than 300 sailors attend US Sailing Safety at Sea seminar in Toronto. A resounding success for the Royal Canadian Yacht Club! The last event of this kind in Toronto was almost 10 years ago; as such, a number of RCYC offshore racing enthusiasts, led by Carson Woods, took it upon themselves to organize what they believed was a much needed seminar for the Toronto, ON sailing and boating community; attendance at yesterday event exceeded their wildest dream yesterday when a large number of sailors simply showed up at the doors of the OISE auditorium, near the RCYC city-side facility to register for the event and boost participation to 300.

The forecast looked promising, as you can be subject to NO wind or TOO much wind for the “Coolest Race on the Lake”. However, we had pretty good winds for the entire race, although at the start it looked doubtful with very light winds and a following sea.

CORK/Sail Kingston to host 2013 Laser North American Championships

CORK/Sail Kingston has been selected to host the 2013 Laser, Laser Radial and Laser 4.7 North American Championships, July 24-28, 2013. The Laser, a Canadian designed dinghy, is the largest dinghy class in the world, with more than 200,000 boats built. Furthermore, both the men’s Laser and the women’s Laser Radial are Olympic class events. The event will attract sailors from all over North America, from youth participants in the Radial and 4.7 to members of the Canadian National Sailing Team. The event is also open to competitors from outside North America.
