NS Sailors Wrap Up Olympic Competition

Nova Scotia Olympic Sailors

Sept 7, 2016

The teams of Dannie Boyd and Erin Rafuse in the 49er FX class and Jacob & Graeme Chaplin-Saunders in the 470 class concluded their events at the Rio Olympics last week.

Dannie and Erin finished in 16th place while Jacob & Graeme were 22nd.

“We are proud of our journey. We have mutual respect for each other and it helps us get through the good and bad moments in sailing. We will be leaving Rio gaining really valuable experience that we can take forward to 2020” said the brothers.

Dannie and Erin said “We made a few too many mistakes and we didn’t put together the races we know we are capable of. It’s been a long road to Rio and we’ve had our ups and downs but at the end of the day, we are friends and we are proud that we made it here. Hard work got us here.”
