Canadian F18 Raid Championship 2023 Around the County Announced

SinC F18 PEC RAID 2023

March 15, 2023

This will be the 19th year of the Around Prince Edward County (near Belleville, ON) inspired by another event called the Archipelago RAID in Sweden www.stockholmarchipelagoraid.com. This event is a RAID which is a term from France which means a long distance event that starts in one place and ends in another. Another term that we use for it over here is an Adventure Race. In 2017 the International F18 sailing class association created the F18 RAID world championship.

The F18 class is the largest class of catamaran in the world, and it is a formula class which means that any builder can build boats to the specification. There are large fleets in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America, with many different designs affordable on the market at the moment. The class is designed with cost considerations, so the boats are reasonably priced – no carbon fibre or exotice. Separate non-foiling and foiling divisions with foiling emerging.
