Toronto’s Royal Canadian Yacht Club is a world class yacht club with a mandate to promote excellence in competitive sailing and sports currently ranked as one of the top 50 Yacht Clubs in the world. The club is currently recruiting for five positions – all full-time seasonal positions.

Race Management Coordinator

The Race Management Coordinator position requires a high level of knowledge and skill in sailing and race management. This role is primarily responsible for coordinating, supervising, and supporting the Race Management team for regattas and weekly race nights hosted by the Royal Canadian Yacht Club. The incumbent must demonstrate an exceptionally positive attitude and willingness to fully participate in a dynamic team environment.

Lead Dockmaster

The Lead Dockmaster is a fundamental interface with Members, their guests, and visiting sailors. Liaising with the Fleet Coordinator, they are responsible for assisting with the maintenance of slip assignments, yacht records and service requests. They will be responsible for the supervision and training for all Dockmaster staff. A key role is to undertake routine cleaning, upkeep and maintenance of club-owned boats and facilities.

The Lead Dockmaster will also be available for the operation of the race committee boat and pontoon boat as required. The incumbent must demonstrate an exceptionally positive attitude and the willingness to participate in a dynamic team environment. This position requires experience in sailing, as well as the operation of power vessels, with an interest to learn more.

Dockmaster

Responsibilities include:

Receive and address requests from Members regarding their vessel, dock, and service issues; assist in addressing general inquiries over phone and VHF, made to the Sailing Office; assist in maintaining and updating all dock, yacht and service requests within the Fleet Register as well as sail locker assignment; assist Membership and Guests with the safe operation of their vessels, general operation of dock facilities, and sail locker assignments; coordinate, direct, and assist visiting sailors with the safe moorage of the vessels; and other duties as specified by the Director of Fleet and Sailing Manager

Fleet Coordinator

The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for managing relationships with Members, their guests, and visiting sailors. A key role of this position is maintaining Member slip assignments, yacht records, locker assignments and dry sailing storage. Working closely with the CSS they will assist in coordinating reciprocal cruises in partnership with the Sailing Coordinator. They will be responsible for the training, supervision, and scheduling for all Dockmaster staff. The incumbent must demonstrate an exceptionally cheerful outlook and the willingness to fully participate in a dynamic team environment. Strong customer service skills are required to provide an elevated level of Member experience, while providing service that is expected at a world class yacht club.

Sailing Event Coordinator

The Sailing Event Coordinator is responsible for logistics, execution, and issue resolution for regattas and club event. Liaising with the various departments involved, the incumbent is responsible for onsite execution and access. This individual must possess excellent communication skills and superior organizational skills. Reporting to the Director of Fleet they will be managed on a day-to-day basis by the Sailing Coordinator.
