J/105 Fleet 4 Hall of Fame inducts Jim Rathbun

The J/105 Fleet 4 Lake Ontario Hall of Fame was established in 2018 to celebrate and acknowledge individauls who have contributed to the success of the Fleet over the years.

The Fleet Executive decide who warrants being inducted into the Hall of Fame and the first inductee in 2019 was Ian Farquharson. Ian was recognized for purchasing the first J/105 in our Fleet and tirelessly promoting the boat.

The second inductee was Dr. James (Jim) Rathbun who was inducted at a formal dinner at the RCYC City Clubhouse in March 2020. Jim was recognized for his 20 years of Fleet development and for racing his J/105 to 11 Major Championship Victories.

The J/105 boat was introduced in 1991 by J/Boats as a one design keelboat. There are currently 685 boats sailing worldwide. Fleet 4 Lake Ontario currently has 20 boats.
